When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Geovanildo Luis sped through Ogro F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alysson Rezende. Alysson Rezende stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Geovanildo Luis's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. In the 24th minute Igor Cavalera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haji Sarap saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the game, Ogro F.C.'s Igor Cavalera nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Haji Sarap made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Igor Cavalera could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Haji Sarap made a huge save. Patrick Matorin made in the 33rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Joinville City - FSCMZ's Drew Zaelani. Alysson Rezende came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Joinville City - FSCMZ's Geovanildo Luis. But to his dismay, Geovanildo Luis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Haji Sarap proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Joinville City - FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Igor Cavalera to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Geovanildo Luis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Joinville City - FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovanildo Luis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alysson Rezende breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geovanildo Luis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alysson Rezende read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Geovanildo Luis took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alysson Rezende. Alysson Rezende dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Adhemar Santos was substituted for Geovanildo Luis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Cavalera in the 69th minute of play forced Joinville City - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Haji Sarap to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ogro F.C.'s Alysson Rezende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Pogba in the 77th minute of play. Alysson Rezende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus Allbäck, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After 81 minutes Ogro F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Henrique Camargo who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ogro F.C.'s goalie and right to Mbaka N'Diaye. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ogro F.C.'s manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 84 minutes into the game, George Pogba was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Joinville City - FSCMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ogro F.C. the free kick. The supporters of Ogro F.C. booed when Joinville City - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. George Pogba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Haji Sarap showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mike Mangini in the 85th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mike Mangini in the 91st minute of play forced Joinville City - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Haji Sarap to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alysson Rezende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus Allbäck, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
