The supporters of Imbituba - FSCMZ booed when Barcellos Mineiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bünyamin Başel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Imbituba - FSCMZ's Rolando Gaspard managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Bünyamin Başel in the 23 minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Barcellos Mineiro FC's zone, Rogério da Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patricio Ugutz came out of the goal and Rogério da Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dale Dolar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The throw-in from Fabian Balbuena in the 32nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Barcellos Mineiro FC's Clóvis Vieira. The audience was convinced that Dale Dolar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sidney Motta was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Clóvis Vieira hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nathaniel Burnett to make the kick off. Sidney Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dale Dolar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sidney Motta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clóvis Vieira in the 59th minute of play. Patricio Ugutz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nathaniel Burnett in the 61st minute of play. When Dale Dolar came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Barcellos Mineiro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dale Dolar couldn't finish the play. Imbituba - FSCMZ made a substitution. Greg Drysdale replaced Nathaniel Burnett. Imbituba - FSCMZ's Válbson Pimenta was substituted for Berenguer Anda. Sidney Motta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Fantini, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute.
