The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ's Diguinho da Mata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathaniel Burnett in the 8th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Nathaniel Burnett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Diguinho da Mata was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Sidney Motta made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Cléber Santana sent off a good shot on target. Sidney Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cléber Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nathaniel Burnett in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diguinho da Mata saved Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ from getting behind. 27 minutes into the game, Nathaniel Burnett cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Diguinho da Mata was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Imbituba - FSCMZ's Rolando Gaspard got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Jiang Bin Yao, 33 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 35 minutes into the match, Imbituba - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Linus Norling came free, but Sidney Motta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felipe Cabral's late challenge caught a Imbituba - FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felipe Cabral helped the player get up and apologised. After 35 played minutes Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Felipe Cabral. In the 36th minute Nathaniel Burnett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diguinho da Mata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Imbituba - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Nathaniel Burnett hit a great ball. The supporters of Imbituba - FSCMZ booed when Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Carlos Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diguinho da Mata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nathaniel Burnett in the 44th minute of the match. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pedro Luís Fonseca was slow to take the kick. During this time Imbituba - FSCMZ's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Imbituba - FSCMZ's corner Pedro Luís Fonseca fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Diguinho da Mata quite easily take care of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience was convinced that Felipe Cabral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sidney Motta was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Cabral in the 54th minute of play forced Imbituba - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Sidney Motta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Cléber Santana sped through Imbituba - FSCMZ's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sidney Motta. Sidney Motta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cléber Santana in the 57th minute of the match. During this time Imbituba - FSCMZ's players had a chance to rest. Imbituba - FSCMZ made a substitution. Greg Drysdale replaced Nathaniel Burnett. Jiang Bin Yao tried in the 70th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Diguinho da Mata a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 1-4. Diguinho da Mata came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Imbituba - FSCMZ's Pedro Luís Fonseca. But to his dismay, Pedro Luís Fonseca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Diguinho da Mata took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Luís Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Válbson Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Luís Fonseca received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Diguinho da Mata came out and tried to block the shot, but Pedro Luís Fonseca slotted it home off the left post making it 1-7 in the 91st minute. Imbituba - FSCMZ's Sidney Motta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléber Santana in the 94th minute of play. In the 96th minute, Pedro Luís Fonseca reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Diguinho da Mata. The goal made the score 1-8. The Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Imbituba - FSCMZ's performance. The match ended with a win for Imbituba - FSCMZ.
