Fabrizio Crognale charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabrizio Crognale the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 24 played minutes Gremio Viana got a freekick which was hit by Fabrizio Crognale. Samuel Fiúza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pelle Blomquist in the 25th minute. If Jiang De had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute Jiang De shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Martin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pelle Blomquists short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Samuel Fiúza to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jiang De sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jim Martin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jiang De, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Jiang De blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jim Martin having to make a save. Jiang De scored 1-3 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jim Martin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pelle Blomquist made a kick off. Samuel Fiúza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Primitivo Heli in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Påk in the 58th minute of play forced Eket BK's goalkeeper Jim Martin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Luna got free with Jim Martin in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 73rd minute, Pelle Blomquist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gremio Viana made a substitution. Antonio Calisto replaced Tony Påk. Gremio Viana's Mohamed Ali Bomba was substituted for Severino Torcato. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Eket BK's goalkeeper Jim Martin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Samuel Fiúza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Vennersten in the 81st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicklas Josefsson during the 84th minute. In the 92nd minute, Carlos Luna made a precise shot to the right of Jim Martin. Eket BK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. Gremio Viana's Carlos Luna got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Gremio Viana supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Gremio Viana would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
