La Herradura FC's You Sheng Qi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nickolai Nickerson in the 8th minute of play. Nickolai Nickerson might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over You Sheng Qi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nickolai Nickerson ran back to his position shaking his head. 9 minutes into the match, La Herradura FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nickolai Nickerson came free, but You Sheng Qi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Nickolai Nickerson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of You Sheng Qi. Nickolai Nickerson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The supporters of La Herradura FC booed when Étoile Sportive Du Sahel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Morgan Möllgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24thth minute of the game Nickolai Nickerson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but La Herradura FC's You Sheng Qi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Osvaldo Grillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eric Soned was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Fabrício Rivarola lost his temper 29 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 28 minutes into the game, one of Étoile Sportive Du Sahel:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Vladimir Capixaba managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Prospero Oidor in the 34 minute of the game. You Sheng Qi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nickolai Nickerson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eric Soned showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Grillo in the 39th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Nickolai Nickerson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's supporters rose to their feet, but Nickolai Nickerson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. You Sheng Qi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 46 minutes into the game, Prospero Oidor threw the ball into play from the sideline. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Valentin Elg quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ernesto Baldovino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A sloppy throw-in by Prospero Oidor in the 53rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Geovanni de Medeiros. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Per-Arne Gunnarsson was substituted for Rei Bolas. In the 58th match minute, La Herradura FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marian Brytan to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Nickolai Nickerson managed to get in a good position for a shot.
