The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Basilio Justin made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Omar Fliz sent off a good shot on target. In the 4th minute, Deportivo Balvanera's Rene Restu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Basilio Justin. Basilio Justin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Basilio Justin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rene Restu, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 17th minute Jonatan Felipo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodosio Urtats saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético Atlanta's zone, Ernesto Argoitz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basilio Justin came out of the goal and Ernesto Argoitz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Basilio Justin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Restu in the 24th minute of play. Basilio Justin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rene Restu went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. From close distance Omar Fliz pressed in the 3-0 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 29 minutes into the game. Basilio Justin was a little too slow when Rene Restu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 4-0. 39 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Basilio Justin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rene Restu. Basilio Justin made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Ramiro Quin sent off a good shot on target. Omar Fliz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rene Restu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Joaquin Fonso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rene Restu might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Basilio Justin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rene Restu ran back to his position shaking his head. Omar Fliz took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Basilio Justin. Basilio Justin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. If Ramiro Quin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deportivo Balvanera made a substitution. Igor Olo replaced Ramiro Quin. The audience was convinced that Omar Fliz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Basilio Justin was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Leonardo Paulin charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonardo Paulin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Deportivo Balvanera booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Paulin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Deportivo Balvanera's Rene Restu got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Basilio Justin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rene Restu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Basilio Justin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rene Restu, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. After 96 played minutes Deportivo Balvanera got a freekick which was hit by Santiago Sosa. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Deportivo Balvanera had played much better football throughout.
