Kristiaan Van de Velde made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jan-Erik Lönn in the 35th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Armentier in the 37th minute of play forced Formentera's goalkeeper Justo Estefan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Charlie Godts hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After 42 played minutes Formentera got a freekick which was hit by Celedonio Rafe. 43 minutes into the match, de belletrekkers's Karel-Jan De Coninck sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Justo Estefan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Jan-Erik Lönn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

54 minutes into the match, Formentera's goalkeeper Justo Estefan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gino Focquier. Jan-Erik Lönn might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kristiaan Van de Velde. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jan-Erik Lönn ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Formentera getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Fausto Ronconi hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gino Focquier got free with Justo Estefan in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 65th minute, Osvaldo Sugar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kristiaan Van de Velde was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Gert Robijns could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Justo Estefan made a huge save. Kristiaan Van de Velde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan-Erik Lönn, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The audience was convinced that Jan-Erik Lönn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kristiaan Van de Velde was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Formentera's Fausto Ronconi quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Theo Weba, made in the 90th minute of the game. If Edgard Armentier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Justo Estefan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Armentier, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the de belletrekkers players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Formentera.
