The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the game, Golden Lions FC's Mats Nyström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Toni Schumacher made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Joschi Hook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toni Schumacher having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, FC Bullen's goal looked a bit too open when Mats Nyström came free, but Toni Schumacher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute Loco Durazno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toni Schumacher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anders Lundqvist made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Richard Fredriksson sent off a good shot on target. Joschi Hook struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. A collision led to FC Bullen getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Kurt Pååk hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the match, FC Bullen's goal looked a bit too open when Loco Durazno came free, but Toni Schumacher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anders Lundqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Loco Durazno could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Toni Schumacher made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Philip Drake in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anders Lundqvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 95 minutes Golden Lions FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kurt Pååk who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on FC Bullen's corner Kurt Pååk fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Anders Lundqvist quite easily take care of the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Golden Lions FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
