In the 9th minute, Loco Durazno left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Golden Lions FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 12 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goalkeeper Olov Wahlnäs had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mats Nyström. Olov Wahlnäs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loco Durazno, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Golden Lions FC's Loco Durazno got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chen Ao Fan to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Loco Durazno in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olov Wahlnäs saved Skövde AIK from getting behind. Olov Wahlnäs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mats Nyström in the 56th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Mats Nyström came free, but Olov Wahlnäs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Skövde AIK defense, Loco Durazno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olov Wahlnäs. The Skövde AIK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olov Wahlnäs should have stopped the shot. Skövde AIK made a substitution. Jerry Williams replaced Chen Ao Fan. Golden Lions FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Skövde AIK the free kick. In the 96th match minute, Golden Lions FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bebben Johansson to maneuver through the defense. Kevin Keegan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Anders Lundqvist made a huge save. Skövde AIK's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
