Skövde AIK's Olov Wahlnäs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Hugo in the 7th minute of play. Filip Brolin hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Radomil Michnik was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Hector Hugo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olov Wahlnäs having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chen Ao Fan got free with Aurel Crivoi in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Olov Wahlnäs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hector Hugo, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Result 0-1. 41 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hector Hugo made a kick off. Olov Wahlnäs stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hector Hugo's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. 55 minutes into the match, Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Keegan came free, but Aurel Crivoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olov Wahlnäs made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Radomil Michnik sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Bernt Offendahl slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Olov Wahlnäs. That made the score 0-3 after 72 minutes of play. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Paul Hermansson was substituted for Hector Hugo. A collision led to Skövde AIK getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Egídio Fernandez hit a great ball. Olov Wahlnäs came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Bernt Offendahl. But to his dismay, Bernt Offendahl quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Olov Wahlnäs made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Radomil Michnik sent off a good shot on target. Olov Wahlnäs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paul Hermansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute Paul Hermansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olov Wahlnäs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Skövde AIK's Olov Wahlnäs got control of the ball when Bernt Offendahl tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Skövde AIK's Georg Norström got a free kick in the 90th minute. Olov Wahlnäs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paul Hermansson in the 91st minute of the match. In the 92nd minute, Paul Hermansson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
