Horea Hurmuzache stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Calistrat Şerbănescu's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adam Rednic during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Calistrat Şerbănescu in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Horea Hurmuzache saved DINAMO from getting behind. A collision led to DINAMO getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Remus Șerbulea hit a great ball. The referee gave PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca a penalty, 13 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sebastian Istodor, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of DINAMO's Horea Hurmuzache. 0-1. Horea Hurmuzache didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Calistrat Şerbănescu went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After 21 played minutes PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca got a freekick which was hit by Petruț Crivac. After 26 minutes, Toader Berbec mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DINAMO and the PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 26 played minutes DINAMO got a freekick which was hit by Toader Berbec. Calistrat Şerbănescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 34th minute, Emil Amuguroancei got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 38th minute Calistrat Şerbănescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horea Hurmuzache saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiberiu Rotariu hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. DINAMO's Horea Hurmuzache played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calistrat Şerbănescu in the 46th minute of play. Remus Șerbulea's late challenge caught a PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Remus Șerbulea helped the player get up and apologised. After 47 played minutes DINAMO got a freekick which was hit by Remus Șerbulea. The DINAMO players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adam Rednic stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Eric Astafei got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 56th minute Calistrat Şerbănescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horea Hurmuzache saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. DINAMO's Horea Hurmuzache played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calistrat Şerbănescu in the 56th minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Calistrat Şerbănescu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Horea Hurmuzache. The goal made the score 0-3. Sorin Nicorici sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Eugen Bobocea fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DINAMO's protests and gave Eugen Bobocea a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca booed when DINAMO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugen Bobocea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emil Amuguroancei recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd minute, Calistrat Şerbănescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Horea Hurmuzache was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. The PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca fans' excitement grew in the 78th match minute when PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Calistrat Şerbănescu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Calistrat Şerbănescu in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Horea Hurmuzache prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Emil Amuguroancei's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Horea Hurmuzache read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. A collision led to DINAMO getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Șerban Damian hit a great ball. With a little luck, DINAMO's Horea Hurmuzache got control of the ball when Calistrat Şerbănescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. A hard shot 95 in the game by Calistrat Şerbănescu from a close distance when the talented Horea Hurmuzache managed to make a qualified save. DINAMO's players were relieved. Calistrat Şerbănescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Horea Hurmuzache tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than DINAMO.
