After a rather tough play, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Malcolm MacDonald got a free kick in the 24th minute. Eusebio Briggs kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Irving Dennis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kennet Bergqvist in the 29th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the game, Eusebio Briggs was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leeds United FC the free kick. After 30 played minutes Sport Lisboa e Benfica got a freekick which was hit by Eusebio Briggs. Antonia Webb had several of the Leeds United FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 32 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Elliott Levander as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 35 played minutes Leeds United FC got a freekick which was hit by Kennet Bergqvist. After a rather tough play, Leeds United FC's Stig Rosen got a free kick in the 41st minute. Georges Christopher took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Elliott Levander. Leeds United FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Antonia Webb made the kick off in the second half. Isaac Madsen made in the 62nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Boniface Fulton. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonia Webb in the 66th minute of play forced Leeds United FC's goalkeeper Elliott Levander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Malcolm MacDonald got a free kick in the 69th minute. Aaron Kvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Isaac Madsen got a free kick in the 83rd minute. The audience was convinced that Kennet Bergqvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Irving Dennis was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sport Lisboa e Benfica fans cheered their team off the field, for while Leeds United FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
