In the 4th minute Dalmo Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doni Botelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Doni Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dalmo Rocha in the 6th minute of the match. In the 6th match minute, Carrapichel - FDFDF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Paulo Paraibano to maneuver through the defense. Dalmo Rocha hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. When Juvenal Loureiro came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Carrapichel - FDFDF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juvenal Loureiro couldn't finish the play. Percival Souza hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Giuseppe Lara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Nova Iguaçu MZFC from getting a goal against them. Doni Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Telmo Barbosa in the 31st minute of the match. Telmo Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doni Botelho having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Túlio Vale got a free kick in the 46th minute. After the first half Nova Iguaçu MZFC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dalmo Rocha was the one to do the kick off. Doni Botelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dalmo Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmo Rocha in the 61st minute of play forced Carrapichel - FDFDF's goalkeeper Doni Botelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Telmo Barbosa's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 62ndth minute, Doni Botelho skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 64th minute, César Alagoano reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Doni Botelho. The goal made the score 0-3. The supporters of Carrapichel - FDFDF booed when Nova Iguaçu MZFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Carlos Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Guilherme Mandrak was substituted for Gernando Mineiro. The supporters of Carrapichel - FDFDF booed when Nova Iguaçu MZFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Arthur Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arthur Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doni Botelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 82 minutes into the game, Telmo Barbosa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Doni Botelho. Telmo Barbosa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Doni Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Alagoano in the 87th minute of the match. The supporters of Nova Iguaçu MZFC booed when Carrapichel - FDFDF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gino Paraibano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carrapichel - FDFDF's Doni Botelho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dalmo Rocha in the 89th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anselmo Batista during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Nova Iguaçu MZFC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Anselmo Batista hit a great ball. 95 minutes into the game, Telmo Barbosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carrapichel - FDFDF the free kick. The Nova Iguaçu MZFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Nova Iguaçu MZFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
