The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Iwan Gongolewicz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 18th minute, Krasimir Balakov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. After a rather tough play, Garanhão do SUL's Silvério Sabrosa got a free kick in the 25th minute. Iwan Gongolewicz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrício Poças in the 27th minute of play. Iwan Gongolewicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvério Sabrosa in the 30th minute of the match. In the 30thth minute of the game Silvério Sabrosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Husaria F.C's Iwan Gongolewicz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Iwan Gongolewicz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrício Poças in the 36th minute of play. A collision led to Husaria F.C getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Olgierd Bondel hit a great ball. In the 38th minute, Romão Miranda left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. After some careless play in the Husaria F.C defense, Silvério Sabrosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iwan Gongolewicz. The Husaria F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iwan Gongolewicz should have stopped the shot. In the 44th match minute, Garanhão do SUL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrício Poças to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Garanhão do SUL were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romão Miranda to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Patrício Poças dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Iwan Gongolewicz, 0-7. Raimundo Delgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaw Skorny in the 55th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the game, Garanhão do SUL's Patrício Poças nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. After 64 played minutes Husaria F.C got a freekick which was hit by Olgierd Bondel. Aristides Brochado was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 65th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Garanhão do SUL made a substitution. Álvaro Calçada replaced Patrício Poças. After a rather tough play, Husaria F.C's Bogdan Wincek got a free kick in the 68th minute. Silvério Sabrosa scored 0-9 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iwan Gongolewicz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Iwan Gongolewicz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Silvério Sabrosa went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-10 was the resulting score. In the 79th minute, Álvaro Calçada reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Iwan Gongolewicz. The goal made the score 0-11. In the 82nd minute, Fryderyk Lizewski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Husaria F.C booed when Garanhão do SUL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romão Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iwan Gongolewicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romão Miranda in the 90th minute of the match. With a little luck, Husaria F.C's Iwan Gongolewicz got control of the ball when Silvério Sabrosa tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Husaria F.C booed when Garanhão do SUL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvério Sabrosa didn't get a good kick on the ball.
