In the 23rd minute Patrício Poças shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Jeraldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lázaro Jeraldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrício Poças in the 27th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Álvaro Calçada managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garanhão do SUL's supporters rose to their feet, but Álvaro Calçada was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lázaro Jeraldo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Aristides Brochado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute Álvaro Calçada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Jeraldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Patrício Poças received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Lázaro Jeraldo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Titanes Mayas getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Denis Brun hit a great ball. In the 56th match minute, Garanhão do SUL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrício Poças to maneuver through the defense. Titanes Mayas's defense didn't have a chance, in the 63rd minute, when Álvaro Calçada scored to the left of an out of position Lázaro Jeraldo, making the score, 0-2. Hugo Lastur hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Aristides Brochado was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 70th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvério Sabrosa in the 72nd minute of play forced Titanes Mayas's goalkeeper Lázaro Jeraldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lázaro Jeraldo was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Silvério Sabrosa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Silvério Sabrosa really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Titanes Mayas's Ismael Salvatore got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ismael Salvatore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute Álvaro Calçada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Jeraldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Garanhão do SUL eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
