Ede Horváth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emil Amuguroancei in the 5th minute of play. Ede Horváth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calistrat Şerbănescu in the 7th minute of the match. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Vlad Covrig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jakab Szigethy in the 13th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emil Amuguroancei got free with Ede Horváth in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 21 minutes into the game, Jakab Szigethy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sporting Savaria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca the free kick. After a rather tough play, Sporting Savaria's Jakab Szigethy got a free kick in the 21st minute. Calistrat Şerbănescu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 26thth minute tested the skills of Ede Horváth when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ede Horváth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Istodor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emil Amuguroancei was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Calistrat Şerbănescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ede Horváth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ede Horváth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emil Amuguroancei in the 54th minute of play. After 57 minutes, Arnold Alexander-Arnold mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting Savaria and the PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 58th minute, Calistrat Şerbănescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ede Horváth was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Istodor in the 63rd minute of play forced Sporting Savaria's goalkeeper Ede Horváth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Sporting Savaria getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. István Benke hit a great ball. Ede Horváth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calistrat Şerbănescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emil Amuguroancei in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ede Horváth saved Sporting Savaria from getting behind. When Balázs Kádár fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting Savaria's protests and gave Balázs Kádár a yellow card for diving instead. Emil Amuguroancei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ede Horváth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calistrat Şerbănescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. There was no doubt that PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca were the better team. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
