The crowd rose to their feet as Calistrat Şerbănescu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kajetan Kossakowski. That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. Kajetan Kossakowski didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Eric Astafei shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Calistrat Şerbănescu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Kajetan Kossakowski when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, Newcastle United's Kajetan Kossakowski got control of the ball when Damian Cârlan tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Calistrat Şerbănescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sorin Nicorici received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Kajetan Kossakowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustaw Nuszkowski hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute, Sebastian Istodor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Petruț Crivac received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Kajetan Kossakowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustaw Nuszkowski hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. When Wojciech Rosiewicz fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newcastle United's protests and gave Wojciech Rosiewicz a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca booed when Newcastle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olaf Jestrimski didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Sorin Nicorici hit a great ball. Calistrat Şerbănescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Damian Cârlan hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Wlodzimierz Siwy who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Vlad Covrig when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Newcastle United's zone, Calistrat Şerbănescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kajetan Kossakowski came out of the goal and Calistrat Şerbănescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Olaf Jestrimski hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute Damian Cârlan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kajetan Kossakowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kajetan Kossakowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Istodor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca booed when Newcastle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olaf Jestrimski didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the game, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Calistrat Şerbănescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kajetan Kossakowski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Istodor in the 77th minute of play forced Newcastle United's goalkeeper Kajetan Kossakowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olimpiu Fecioru kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Newcastle United's Wlodzimierz Siwy got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kajetan Kossakowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calistrat Şerbănescu in the 86th minute of the match. Kajetan Kossakowski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastian Istodor went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. In the 93rd minute, Adrian Bârsan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Damian Cârlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
