After 29th play minutes Luisinho Koehler shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Loui Sielis and just under the crossbar into goal. Real Madryt's Wilhelm Åhman got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Real Madryt booed when Zoetwater was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robbrecht Voet didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Zoetwater's goalkeeper Loui Sielis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luisinho Koehler. Ostap Barylko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles-Louis Verhaeghen in the 48th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Toon Wynaerts to make the kick off. Yvan Denys received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Ostap Barylko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 53 played minutes Real Madryt got a freekick which was hit by Juvenal Lobato. 56 minutes into the match, Real Madryt's Luisinho Koehler sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Loui Sielis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luisinho Koehler blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Loui Sielis having to make a save. Luisinho Koehler ran back to his position shaking his head. After 78 minutes, Robbrecht Voet mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zoetwater and the Real Madryt players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Luisinho Koehler came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Real Madryt fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luisinho Koehler couldn't finish the play. When Juvenal Lobato fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Madryt's protests and gave Juvenal Lobato a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th minute, Juvenal Lobato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ostap Barylko made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Yvan Denys sent off a good shot on target. For all the effort they put into the match, the Zoetwater players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Real Madryt.
