Loui Sielis came out of the goal and Yaroslav Kotelyukh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 15th minute Yaroslav Kotelyukh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loui Sielis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Oleg Velychko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Romny fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Toon Wynaerts's late challenge caught a Romny's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toon Wynaerts helped the player get up and apologised. In the 38th match minute, Zoetwater was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toon Wynaerts to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Oleg Velychko's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Loui Sielis was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. In the 44thth minute of the game Oleg Velychko who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zoetwater's Loui Sielis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 45 minutes into the game, Charles-Louis Verhaeghen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zoetwater's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Romny the free kick. After the first half Romny were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Toon Wynaerts to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Zoetwater booed when Romny was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oleg Velychko didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 60 played minutes Zoetwater got a freekick which was hit by Richey Waterloos. Yvan Denys received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Artur Shlyk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stepan Balioz during the 65th minute. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Artur Shlyk showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Yaroslav Kotelyukh could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Loui Sielis made a huge save. 76 minutes into the match, Yvan Denys notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Romny's Artur Shlyk. Artur Shlyk was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Artur Shlyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yvan Denys, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zoetwater's Loui Sielis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oleg Velychko in the 97th minute of play. The Romny players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Zoetwater from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
