Sol Motz's late challenge caught a Flink Kópaskeri's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sol Motz helped the player get up and apologised. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Deon Grooten in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kristmundur Þorkelsson saved Flink Kópaskeri from getting behind. Ilserheide FC's Henning Rühmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnljótur Jafetsson in the 10th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Arnljótur Jafetsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henning Rühmann. Ilserheide FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arnljótur Jafetsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Þórleifur Hilmarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henning Rühmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Soffanías Emilsson in the 17th minute of play. Kristmundur Þorkelsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Siegmund Probst, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Flink Kópaskeri's goal looked a bit too open when Deon Grooten came free, but Kristmundur Þorkelsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st match minute, Flink Kópaskeri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnljótur Jafetsson to maneuver through the defense. Flink Kópaskeri's Þórleifur Hilmarsson got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Ilserheide FC fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when Ilserheide FC's Deon Grooten looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 29 minutes of play Flink Kópaskeri's Arnljótur Jafetsson was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 30th match minute, Flink Kópaskeri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnljótur Jafetsson to maneuver through the defense. Kristmundur Þorkelsson was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Deon Grooten capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Deon Grooten really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. In the 34th minute of the match, Deon Grooten tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kristmundur Þorkelsson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Flink Kópaskeri's Soffanías Emilsson got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Ilserheide FC's Deon Grooten in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Flink Kópaskeri's goalie prevented a goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 71st minute, Berko Henke ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kristmundur Þorkelsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. In the 75th minute, Deon Grooten made a precise shot to the right of Kristmundur Þorkelsson. Flink Kópaskeri's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. Kristmundur Þorkelsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deon Grooten, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After a rather tough play, Flink Kópaskeri's Soffanías Emilsson got a free kick in the 81st minute. Deon Grooten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kristmundur Þorkelsson having to make a save. In the 87th minute Soffanías Emilsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henning Rühmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kristmundur Þorkelsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Deon Grooten went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score. Henning Rühmann made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Valdór Orrason sent off a good shot on target. Flink Kópaskeri's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
