Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Behe Haedo started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 2nd minute, Bonifacio Echarriza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 6 minutes into the game, R.B Leipzig's Bai Cheng Nan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Guillen Mijangos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, Universitario's Behe Haedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marek Žilák narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 13th match minute, Universitario was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vidal Cantabrana to maneuver through the defense. Guillen Mijangos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bai Cheng Nan in the 17th minute of play. Behe Haedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Marek Žilák made a huge save. Rubén-Darío Bustos hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Fausto Cueto hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. 37 minutes into the match, Universitario's goal looked a bit too open when Bai Cheng Nan came free, but Guillen Mijangos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Bai Cheng Nan sped through Universitario's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Guillen Mijangos. After the first half R.B Leipzig were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bai Cheng Nan to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Bai Cheng Nan took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Guillen Mijangos to make any attempt to save it. In the 56thth minute of the game Bai Cheng Nan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Universitario's Guillen Mijangos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bai Cheng Nan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Guillen Mijangos came out and tried to block the shot, but Bai Cheng Nan slotted it home off the left post making it 1-6 in the 58th minute. Vidal Cantabrana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marek Žilák having to interfere. Quirze Millon hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Vidal Cantabrana kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. After 74 minutes of play, R.B Leipzig's Fausto Bucesta made it 1-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Guillen Mijangos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bai Cheng Nan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Guillen Mijangos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. R.B Leipzig's Bai Cheng Nan was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 78th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Guillen Mijangos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Bucesta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the match, Universitario's goalkeeper Guillen Mijangos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fausto Bucesta.

R.B Leipzig played a much better game than Universitario and deserved their victory. The Universitario players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
