The Liechtenstein fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacob Josef Zurflüh should have stopped the shot. Tivadar Demeter might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jacob Josef Zurflüh. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tivadar Demeter ran back to his position shaking his head. Jacob Josef Zurflüh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tivadar Demeter in the 21st minute of the match. With his leg Arnold Szuper managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when Liechtenstein's Konstantin Hofmeister fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Liechtenstein were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after Hungary's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sebastian Allgäuer took the corner. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Liechtenstein's goalkeeper Jacob Josef Zurflüh, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hungary's Arnold Szuper proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Hungary from getting a goal against them. Andreas Fromm made in the 45th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Dominik Klaus immediately put the ball in play. The Liechtenstein players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Hungary were winning 0-2.

54 minutes into the game, Hungary's Tivadar Demeter nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacob Josef Zurflüh made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 68 minutes into the match, Liechtenstein's goalkeeper Jacob Josef Zurflüh had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tivadar Demeter. Liechtenstein made a substitution. Samuel Keller replaced Dominik Klaus. Hungary made a substitution. Pál Polyák replaced Tivadar Demeter. Gerd Milutinov made in the 72nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Sebastian Allgäuer. In the 75th minute Tibor Horváth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacob Josef Zurflüh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Liechtenstein's Jacob Josef Zurflüh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tibor Horváth in the 81st minute of play. Hungary's Arnold Szuper played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrick Hanselmann in the 89th minute of play. Jacob Josef Zurflüh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pál Polyák in the 93rd minute of play. Arnold Szuper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Konstantin Hofmeister in the 96th minute of the match. The Hungary supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hungary would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
