To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 9 minutes into the match, SAN LORENZO FC's goalkeeper Natalio Mitxaut had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Șerban Damian. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ryszard Borcz got free with Natalio Mitxaut in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Ryszard Borcz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristides Castel in the 19th minute of play forced DINAMO's goalkeeper Horea Hurmuzache to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to DINAMO getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. George Martin hit a great ball. If Aristides Castel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aristides Castel in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Horea Hurmuzache saved DINAMO from getting behind. In the 26thth minute of the game Aristides Castel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but DINAMO's Horea Hurmuzache was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Aristides Castel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nereo Rodas kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, DINAMO's Ryszard Borcz got a free kick in the 35th minute. A collision led to SAN LORENZO FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Nereo Rodas hit a great ball. In the 46th minute, Aristides Castel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aristides Castel was the one to do the kick off. Ryszard Borcz took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Natalio Mitxaut. Natalio Mitxaut dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. If Jorge Rinaldi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aristides Castel in the 61stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Horea Hurmuzache, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. SAN LORENZO FC made a substitution. Casimiro Jenaro replaced Aristides Castel. When Casimiro Jenaro came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the SAN LORENZO FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Casimiro Jenaro couldn't finish the play. In the 74th minute, Casimiro Jenaro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SAN LORENZO FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Jorge Rinaldi's late challenge caught a DINAMO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Rinaldi helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of DINAMO booed when SAN LORENZO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Rinaldi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 84 played minutes, SAN LORENZO FC's Jorge Rinaldi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Horea Hurmuzache came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SAN LORENZO FC reached it. Natalio Mitxaut made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ryszard Borcz in the 86th minute of play. In the 91st minute, SAN LORENZO FC's Casimiro Jenaro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Horea Hurmuzache. Horea Hurmuzache yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Casimiro Jenaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
