A collision led to Greece getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Alexandros Komninos hit a great ball. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 14th minute, when Moldova's Ovidiu Buturugã after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Jason Statham in Greece's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erling Lewandowski in the 15th minute of play forced Moldova's goalkeeper George Buturugã to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19thth minute of the game Erling Lewandowski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Moldova's George Buturugã was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Greece's goalkeeper Jason Statham had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mihail Pânzaru. Mihail Pânzaru might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jason Statham. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mihail Pânzaru ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 22nd minute Mihail Pânzaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jason Statham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Moldova's Gheorghe Papuc got a free kick in the 23rd minute. If Erling Lewandowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jason Statham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iurie Macovei in the 25th minute of the match. George Buturugã took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lionel-Andrés Messi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute Greece were awarded a corner. Sotiris Alexandropoulos went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Eugenios Dimakis managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Jason Statham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihail Pânzaru in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute of the match Moldova got a corner. Greece's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ovidiu Buturugã ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timos Tsalavoutas in the 34th minute of play forced Moldova's goalkeeper George Buturugã to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mihail Pânzaru got free with Jason Statham in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Mihail Pânzaru kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jason Statham. That made the score 1-0 in the 38 minute of play. Mihail Pânzaru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jason Statham read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Greece's Erling Lewandowski got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mihail Pânzaru was the one to do the kick off. After 55 played minutes Moldova got a freekick which was hit by Gheorghe Papuc. Greece's Pipis Karapatakis was substituted for Erling Lewandowski. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Ruslan Izmanã put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jason Statham. Greece made a substitution. Grigoris Kitrinidis replaced Jason Statham. George Buturugã made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pipis Karapatakis in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Pipis Karapatakis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of George Buturugã. The goal made the score 2-1. Moldova's Emilian Braga was substituted for Emil Gonta. George Buturugã made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 76th minute. Pipis Karapatakis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jason Statham didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ruslan Izmanã went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. 83 minutes into the match, Timos Tsalavoutas notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Moldova's George Buturugã. George Buturugã was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. George Buturugã made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Pipis Karapatakis sent off a good shot on target. George Buturugã made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pipis Karapatakis in the 94th minute of play. In the 94th minute, Pipis Karapatakis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. George Buturugã was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. Maxim Scobioalã's late challenge caught a Greece's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maxim Scobioalã helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Moldova's Maxim Scobioalã got a free kick in the 96th minute. After having played for 98 minutes, Pipis Karapatakis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Greece's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pipis Karapatakis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
