After some careless play in the Tigre defense, Federico Colas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stefan Orlicki. The Tigre fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stefan Orlicki should have stopped the shot. Federico Colas took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stefan Orlicki. Stefan Orlicki dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Arnaldo Lore came free with the goalkeeper in the 20th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Prospero Maju could save by the left post. Celedonio Ugaitz's late challenge caught a Gallardo y Biscay FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Celedonio Ugaitz helped the player get up and apologised. Celedonio Ugaitz hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Stefan Orlicki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cosme Mendebal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Tigre booed when Gallardo y Biscay FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cosme Mendebal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Gallardo y Biscay FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gwyn Lawson came free, but Prospero Maju reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute, Federico Colas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gwyn Lawson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prospero Maju having to interfere. After the first half Gallardo y Biscay FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Federico Colas got free with Stefan Orlicki in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
