In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Floriana Celtics's goalkeeper Jason Haber, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 12 minutes into the game, Edin Džeko recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jason Haber. Edin Džeko showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Floriana Celtics's defense didn't have a chance, in the 15th minute, when Edin Džeko scored to the left of an out of position Jason Haber, making the score, 2-0. After 19 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Floriana Celtics! If Edin Džeko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edin Džeko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Jason Haber made a huge save. Jason Haber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Medero Gadea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jason Haber was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Edin Džeko showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-0 in the 47 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

The audience was convinced that Edin Džeko's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jason Haber was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. 76 minutes into the match, Edin Džeko notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Floriana Celtics's Jason Haber. Jason Haber was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jason Haber didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edin Džeko went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. For all the effort they put into the match, the Floriana Celtics players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for GeRaÇãO-83.
