Jean Carl Ciantar struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Aurelio Di Lullo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Floriana Celtics. Jason Haber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Attilio Fortunato, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean Carl Ciantar in the 10th minute of play forced Valdieri's goalkeeper Aurelio Di Lullo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Floriana Celtics's Austin Gatt got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Brian Urpani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brian Urpani in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aurelio Di Lullo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian Urpani in the 22nd minute of play forced Valdieri's goalkeeper Aurelio Di Lullo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brian Urpani's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aurelio Di Lullo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Aurelio Di Lullo came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Floriana Celtics's Brian Urpani. But to his dismay, Brian Urpani quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Austin Gatt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Aurelio Di Lullo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the game, Floriana Celtics's Brian Urpani nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aurelio Di Lullo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Brian Urpani scored 0-4 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aurelio Di Lullo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Brian Urpani was the one to do the kick off. Brian Urpani's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 58thth minute, Aurelio Di Lullo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Austin Gatt in the 62nd minute of play forced Valdieri's goalkeeper Aurelio Di Lullo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Valdieri's Fulvio Bozzelli got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 67th minute Jean Carl Ciantar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Di Lullo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Attilio Fortunato in the 69th minute of play forced Floriana Celtics's goalkeeper Jason Haber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Floriana Celtics's Aurelio Di Lullo threw himself towards the right post 71 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Austin Gatt, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Brian Urpani took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aurelio Di Lullo. Aurelio Di Lullo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Floriana Celtics's Malcolm Hili was substituted for Austin Gatt. Aurelio Di Lullo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brian Urpani went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. In the 83rd minute Malcolm Hili shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Di Lullo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fulvio Bozzelli hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Aurelio Di Lullo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Malcolm Hili's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean Carl Ciantar in the 96th minute of play forced Valdieri's goalkeeper Aurelio Di Lullo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle sounded Floriana Celtics left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Valdieri.
