After some careless play in the Torino F.C. defense, Brian Urpani kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fedele Pocobello. The Torino F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fedele Pocobello should have stopped the shot. When Ferdinando Tatangelo came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Torino F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ferdinando Tatangelo couldn't finish the play. Austin Gatt hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Fedele Pocobello stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brian Urpani's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. The supporters of Floriana Celtics booed when Torino F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristoforo Giordano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 29 minutes, Jean Carl Ciantar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Floriana Celtics's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jean Carl Ciantar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 31st minute Austin Gatt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fedele Pocobello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Floriana Celtics were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute, Austin Gatt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fedele Pocobello was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Brian Urpani took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Fedele Pocobello to make any attempt to save it. Fedele Pocobello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian Urpani in the 64th minute of the match. Fedele Pocobello didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from David Terribile went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Austin Gatt in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fedele Pocobello saved Torino F.C. from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Floriana Celtics's Andrew Cuschieri got a free kick in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian Urpani in the 76th minute of play forced Torino F.C.'s goalkeeper Fedele Pocobello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Floriana Celtics's Brian Urpani slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fedele Pocobello. That made the score 0-9 after 78 minutes of play. With a little luck, Torino F.C.'s Fedele Pocobello got control of the ball when Brian Urpani tried to sneak it across the goal line.
