After 6 minutes, Ciriaco Cordarrell made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Club Atlethico Talleres's Manuel Hibai tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Manuel Hibai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Matosas in the 9th minute of play. After 9 minutes of play, SAN LORENZO FC's Gustavo Matosas made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manuel Hibai was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 15th minute of the match, Paulino Gonzo got a very nice opportunity to score, but John Locke was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Felipe Galindo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. John Locke came out and tried to block the shot, but Felipe Galindo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 19th minute. With 23 minutes on the clock, Roberto Monserrat commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Roberto Monserrat hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Primitivo Orlandus from long distance, 24 minutes into the match, got John Locke's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Erubiel Lano struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Manuel Hibai didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SAN LORENZO FC. Erubiel Lano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manuel Hibai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo Michael in the 41st minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Mauro Cordareo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mauro Cordareo in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg John Locke saved SAN LORENZO FC from getting behind. Manuel Hibai made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Justino Quinito sent off a good shot on target. Mauro Cordareo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SAN LORENZO FC made a substitution. Ruperto Erlantz replaced Justino Quinito. 72 minutes into the match, Club Atlethico Talleres's goal looked a bit too open when Erubiel Lano came free, but Manuel Hibai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Felipe Galindo came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Club Atlethico Talleres fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipe Galindo couldn't finish the play. After 80 played minutes SAN LORENZO FC got a freekick which was hit by Ruperto Erlantz. Manuel Hibai was out of position in the 84 minute of play, and Ruperto Erlantz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ruperto Erlantz really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. 90 minutes into the match, Club Atlethico Talleres's goal looked a bit too open when Froilan Jatsu came free, but Manuel Hibai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
