The goalkeeper, Mané Paulista, was totally fooled by Império Futebol Clube's Duda Cunha, who 11 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The Império Futebol Clube fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Império Futebol Clube's Faustão Félix looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Mané Paulista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faustão Félix in the 18th minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Thiago Ribeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Faustão Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mané Paulista having to interfere. Mané Paulista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilson Meirelles in the 28th minute of the match. In the 30th match minute, Império Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duda Cunha to maneuver through the defense. When Olívio Cerezo fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Império Futebol Clube's protests and gave Olívio Cerezo a yellow card for diving instead. After 33 played minutes Império Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Olívio Cerezo. 38 minutes into the match, Império Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Ulysses Penha came free, but Gugu Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute, Wesley Chaves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 40 played minutes Tortinho got a freekick which was hit by Eurico Lira. Mané Paulista made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Faustão Félix sent off a good shot on target. Luís Fábio Ceresso's late challenge caught a Império Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Fábio Ceresso helped the player get up and apologised. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Tortinho! Tortinho:s Mané Paulista showed great skill when he stopped Duda Cunha:s penalty. Mané Paulista didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Duda Cunha went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Wesley Chaves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gugu Barreto having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ulysses Penha was the one to do the kick off. Império Futebol Clube's Faustão Félix got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Império Futebol Clube's Gugu Barreto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Império Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. Wesley Chaves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 60 played minutes Tortinho got a freekick which was hit by Ulysses Penha. In the 62nd minute, Faustão Félix made a precise shot to the right of Mané Paulista. Tortinho's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. After having played for 68 minutes, Faustão Félix managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Império Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Faustão Félix was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 70th minute, Faustão Félix got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 72nd minute, Luís Fábio Ceresso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ulysses Penha got free with Gugu Barreto in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ulysses Penha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gugu Barreto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ulysses Penha went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Império Futebol Clube fully deserved thier win.
