Gugu Barreto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Garcia Ribero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faustão Félix in the 19th minute of play. A collision led to Ariguapa getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Beila Purrigimon hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Mazinho Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Império Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Mazinho Fontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Garcia Ribero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute, Bertran Lizundia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ariguapa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 39th minute, Beila Purrigimon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Faustão Félix's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Garcia Ribero was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Olívio Cerezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garcia Ribero having to interfere. Faustão Félix might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Garcia Ribero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Faustão Félix ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Império Futebol Clube's Olívio Cerezo got a free kick in the 47th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gualterio Morera to make the kick off. Beila Purrigimon hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Garcia Ribero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olívio Cerezo, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. When Império Futebol Clube's Faustão Félix in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ariguapa's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Ariguapa's Serafino Montane got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 70th minute Faustão Félix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garcia Ribero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Império Futebol Clube's Olívio Cerezo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Sebastiano Taran in the 72 minute of the game. In the 76th minute Faustão Félix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garcia Ribero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 79 played minutes Ariguapa got a freekick which was hit by Cisco Villafuentes. In the 80th minute, Lúcio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jerônimo Varela's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Garcia Ribero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. The supporters of Império Futebol Clube booed when Ariguapa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beila Purrigimon didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gualterio Morera in the 88th minute of play forced Império Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Gugu Barreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th match minute, Ariguapa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beila Purrigimon to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle went the supporters of Ariguapa were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Império Futebol Clube side.
