The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francisc Şuplăcan during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Borussia Brasov's Francisc Şuplăcan got a free kick in the 19th minute. Ionuț Bădulescu kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, 宋城希 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Cristinel Ştefulescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 宋城希 in the 51st minute of the match. 53 minutes in the game Ivan Hrandabur did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Luca Nistorescu. When Central Coast Mariners's 宋城希 in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Borussia Brasov's goalie prevented a goal. 宋城希 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristinel Ştefulescu having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by 庞烨斌 in the 64th minute of play forced Borussia Brasov's goalkeeper Cristinel Ştefulescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Central Coast Mariners's 宋城希 slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cristinel Ştefulescu. That made the score 0-6 after 66 minutes of play. 刘岩谦 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Cristinel Ştefulescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 方康剑 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corneliu Nacu in the 71st minute of play. The supporters of Borussia Brasov booed when Central Coast Mariners was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. 秦悦诚 didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luca Nistorescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. 方康剑 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If 宋城希 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Borussia Brasov's goalkeeper Cristinel Ştefulescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 宋城希 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 88th minute, Nicolae Bleoancă left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Borussia Brasov fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. 方康剑 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolae Bleoancă in the 94th minute of play. The Central Coast Mariners supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Central Coast Mariners would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
