It was a penalty for Tortinho! The goalkeeper, Mané Paulista, was totally fooled by SaoPedro's Wiliam Donatello, who 31 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Wiliam Donatello's late challenge caught a Tortinho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wiliam Donatello helped the player get up and apologised. In the 36th match minute, SaoPedro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wiliam Donatello to maneuver through the defense. Denílson Maranhense's late challenge caught a SaoPedro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabiano Bezerra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in SaoPedro's zone, Ulysses Penha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erik Monteiro came out of the goal and Ulysses Penha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tortinho's Mané Paulista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natanael Alcântara in the 57th minute of play. Erik Monteiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ulysses Penha in the 58th minute. The supporters of Tortinho booed when SaoPedro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdemar de Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Ulysses Penha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tortinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Ulysses Penha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erik Monteiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. SaoPedro's Natanael Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fabiano Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Mané Paulista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mané Paulista stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabiano Bezerra's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. 69 minutes into the match, Fabiano Bezerra notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Tortinho's Mané Paulista. Mané Paulista was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fabiano Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Mané Paulista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Tortinho getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Wesley Chaves hit a great ball. If Ulysses Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ulysses Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Monteiro having to interfere. If Ulysses Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cipriano Arantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joélson da Silva charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joélson da Silva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Joélson da Silva hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Many of Tortinho's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Tortinho may have spent more time on the ball, but SaoPedro were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
