Laçın Cumayev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhao Yue Cheng, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 7th minute of play forced LUIZ PANATO's goalkeeper Iuri das Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the game, LUIZ PANATO's Zhao Yue Cheng nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Laçın Cumayev made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 13 minutes of play, SC Braga's Zigmantas Gimbutas made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iuri das Neves was left in no man's land by his defense there! SC Braga's Zigmantas Gimbutas got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 17th minute Osmar dos Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laçın Cumayev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Osmar dos Santos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Laçın Cumayev was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. In the 22nd play minute Zigmantas Gimbutas came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Iuri das Neves. 2-1. Laçın Cumayev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osmar dos Santos in the 52nd minute of play. The supporters of SC Braga booed when LUIZ PANATO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Heidemann didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in LUIZ PANATO's zone, Stig-Åke Mattsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iuri das Neves came out of the goal and Stig-Åke Mattsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
