Laçın Cumayev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciriaco Emenon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SC Braga's Laçın Cumayev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciriaco Emenon in the 21st minute of play. After 29 played minutes Zjem Cię got a freekick which was hit by Miroslaw Cichowski. After having played for 30 minutes, Zigmantas Gimbutas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Braga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zigmantas Gimbutas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Zjem Cię's Amador Presebal got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Laçın Cumayev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mateo Palacio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zigmantas Gimbutas to strike the kick off in the second half. Miroslaw Cichowski made in the 60th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by SC Braga's Amado Parente. In the 61st minute, Zigmantas Gimbutas made a precise shot to the right of Napoleon Jajko. Zjem Cię's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. SC Braga's Geraldo Lucas was substituted for André Jordão. Zjem Cię's Iwo Cwynar was substituted for Murillo Cedeno. After 67 minutes of play, SC Braga's Zigmantas Gimbutas made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Napoleon Jajko was left in no man's land by his defense there! SC Braga's Stig-Åke Mattsson was substituted for Zigmantas Gimbutas. In the 77th minute, Stig-Åke Mattsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Napoleon Jajko was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. 81 minutes into the match, SC Braga's goal looked a bit too open when Ciriaco Emenon came free, but Laçın Cumayev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Napoleon Jajko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Cieri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, SC Braga's Valdomiro Lira got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 88th match minute, SC Braga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdomiro Lira to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SC Braga had won after a very even match.
