Club Olimpia's attentive Ferdinand Zdraşcu managed to snatch the ball when Teodoro Edur made a throw-in in the 9th minute of the game. In the 10th minute Nelson Haedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteban Gipuzkoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Club Olimpia booed when Dolores was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Edur didn't get a good kick on the ball. Esteban Gipuzkoa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelson Haedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Alfredo Aguilar made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Cristobal Santana sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Nelson Haedo put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Esteban Gipuzkoa. Esteban Gipuzkoa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelson Haedo in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute Israel Martxelin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Aguilar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Dolores defense, Nelson Haedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Esteban Gipuzkoa. The Dolores fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Esteban Gipuzkoa should have stopped the shot. Alfredo Aguilar made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Israel Martxelin sent off a good shot on target. Nelson Haedo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Esteban Gipuzkoa having to make a save. 43 minutes into the match, Dolores's goal looked a bit too open when Nelson Haedo came free, but Esteban Gipuzkoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dolores's Jaroslaw Tarka quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Luís Fernando Duarte, made in the 47th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Robben De Mulder was the one to do the kick off. Dolores's players were relieved. 71 minutes into the match, Club Olimpia's Roque Gora sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Esteban Gipuzkoa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Club Olimpia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Pan Xi De in the 72nd minute. Club Olimpia were awarded a corner in the 73th minute after Dolores's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Pan Xi De took the corner. The corner led to Club Olimpia's Raka Hadiman getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After 76 played minutes Club Olimpia got a freekick which was hit by Sun Chao Xing. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nelson Haedo in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Esteban Gipuzkoa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 80 minutes into the match, Dolores's goal looked a bit too open when Nelson Haedo came free, but Esteban Gipuzkoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nelson Haedo in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Esteban Gipuzkoa saved Dolores from getting behind. Dolores's Esteban Gipuzkoa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Dolores from getting a goal against them.
