Thanks to some nice moves Sven Thorsberg could shoot a difficult shot in the 12th minute, which Marcos Ranolfo however easily saved by the left post. Marcos Ranolfo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven Thorsberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Brion hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kraig Fred in the 16th minute of play forced El retorno del Pincha's goalkeeper André Zonta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sven Thorsberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Marcos Ranolfo made a huge save. Marcos Ranolfo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximino Lope, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Marcos Ranolfo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximino Lope in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven Thorsberg in the 38th minute of play forced Estudiantes de América's goalkeeper Marcos Ranolfo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Estudiantes de América were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

André Zonta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Beltza in the 71st minute of play. Estudiantes de América's Concetto Trasatti was substituted for Moises Eyague. El retorno del Pincha's Christopher Birchall was substituted for Marcel Ternby. 74 minutes had been played when some careless play by El retorno del Pincha's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Traian Blăniță was slow to take the kick. During this time Estudiantes de América's players had a chance to rest. Orlando Beltza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. André Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven Thorsberg in the 80th minute of play. André Zonta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Korneliusz Miodek in the 83rd minute of the match. Marcos Ranolfo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven Thorsberg in the 84th minute of play. A collision led to El retorno del Pincha getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Ulises Crispo hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Orlando Beltza kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving André Zonta. That made the score 1-3 in the 95 minute of play. 97 minutes into the match, Concetto Trasatti had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of André Zonta. El retorno del Pincha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Concetto Trasatti was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. The Estudiantes de América players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
