Benjamin Edur made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ildefonso Iraunkor in the 28th minute of play forced ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elpidio Francis in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benjamin Edur prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nestor Harkaitz took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Branislav Velchevski. Branislav Velchevski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 39th minute Elpidio Francis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Edur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Elpidio Francis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. When Arnoldo Cordero fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's protests and gave Arnoldo Cordero a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Arnoldo Cordero hit a great ball. After the first half ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ildefonso Iraunkor to strike the kick off in the second half. 【E ➣VERON 11's Jonas Hjeltman quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Arnoldo Cordero, made in the 52nd minute of the game. After 55 played minutes 【E ➣VERON 11 got a freekick which was hit by Diego Lugo. After a rather tough play, 【E ➣VERON 11's Cornel Ghiurutan got a free kick in the 56th minute. In the 58th minute, Elpidio Francis made a precise shot to the right of Benjamin Edur. 【E ➣VERON 11's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 64th match minute, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnoldo Cordero to maneuver through the defense. Branislav Velchevski came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by 【E ➣VERON 11's Modesto Constancio. But to his dismay, Modesto Constancio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Haroldo Macario was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 78 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in 【E ➣VERON 11 fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 78th minute. Penalty! Elpidio Francis shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Bonifacio Suarez kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Branislav Velchevski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cornel Ghiurutan in the 87th minute of play. The supporters of ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA booed when 【E ➣VERON 11 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimiro Joanes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd play minute Elpidio Francis came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Benjamin Edur. 2-5. Elpidio Francis's late challenge caught a 【E ➣VERON 11's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elpidio Francis helped the player get up and apologised. Elpidio Francis kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
