An unexpectedly hard shot by Neron Veterini in the 93rd minute of play forced Liechtenstein's goalkeeper Jacob Josef Zurflüh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Liechtenstein supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Switzerland's performance. The match ended with a win for Switzerland.
