The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gaston Izel kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. 6 minutes into the match, KFC Uerdingen 05's Arseniy Bokatyuk broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Darkness's Pete Luna proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Darkness from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Darkness's zone, Simon Bannenbusch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pete Luna came out of the goal and Simon Bannenbusch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the match, Darkness's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Bannenbusch came free, but Pete Luna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ole-Gunnar Klose had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tymoteusz Mios made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ole-Gunnar Klose in the 19th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adolfo Jacindo in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tymoteusz Mios prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Darkness's Pete Luna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Bannenbusch in the 29th minute of play. Pete Luna made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Hartwig Engelhardt sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian Laudrup in the 36th minute of play forced Darkness's goalkeeper Pete Luna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gencer Hisarcık kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ole-Gunnar Klose in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tymoteusz Mios prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Darkness's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Nicolas Orland in the 43rd minute. The corner led Darkness's Kane Einstein to fire away a dangerous shot which Tymoteusz Mios despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Simon Bannenbusch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Simon Bannenbusch to make the kick off. Tymoteusz Mios showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rosendo Seguinus in the 52nd minute of the match. Ole-Gunnar Klose sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 55 minutes into the game, Simon Bannenbusch cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Pete Luna was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Kane Einstein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute, Rodolfo Hori hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tymoteusz Mios showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aldebaran Tauro, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Tymoteusz Mios came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Darkness's Aldebaran Tauro. But to his dismay, Aldebaran Tauro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Darkness made a substitution. Pablo-Enrique Cuba replaced Aldebaran Tauro. Kane Einstein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 74 minutes into the game, Eugenio Frechoso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Darkness's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC Uerdingen 05 the free kick. In the 74th minute, Eugenio Frechoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tymoteusz Mios made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kane Einstein in the 80th minute of play. Pete Luna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Froylan in the 82nd minute of the match. Brian Laudrup received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Pete Luna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Julian Froylan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KFC Uerdingen 05 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 91st minute Julian Froylan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pete Luna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the game, Ole-Gunnar Klose recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tymoteusz Mios. Ole-Gunnar Klose showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. In the 97th minute Julian Froylan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pete Luna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Darkness players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented KFC Uerdingen 05 from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
