César Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Véber, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. With a little luck, Vodka Stars 1949's Generoso Beloki got control of the ball when Wilco Keldermans tried to sneak it across the goal line. Generoso Beloki made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Juan Ayuso sent off a good shot on target. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Curcio Alonso made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul Geeraerts in the 51st minute of play forced Decathlon Dudes's goalkeeper César Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paul Geeraerts succeeded in the game's 53rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Decathlon Dudes's zone, Paul Geeraerts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. César Sousa came out of the goal and Paul Geeraerts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Vodka Stars 1949 could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Decathlon Dudes throughout the match.
