An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardino Vedillo in the 19th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Bruno Antognoni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Enzo Luongo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fabrizio Manzi. That made the score 3-0 in the 22 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Enzo Luongo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabrizio Manzi was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. 35 minutes into the match, PICCOLE PESTI's goalkeeper Fabrizio Manzi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enzo Luongo. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When Nico Rodrigues fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PICCOLE PESTI's protests and gave Nico Rodrigues a yellow card for diving instead. Nico Rodrigues kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Bernardino Vedillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Bruno Antognoni made a huge save. Fabrizio Manzi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Italy fully deserved thier win.
