Franky Dhondt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Falcioni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Themis Papadimoulis, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Franky Dhondt to make the kick off. Jonatan Lekberg made in the 51st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Timo Geyer immediately put the ball in play. In the 62nd minute Bennvar Back shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucrețiu Brătescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Cardo Ruso Cordobés players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
