POSSE 1911 FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emery Heller was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, POSSE 1911 FC's Braulio Ruisko sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lionel Paly narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lionel Paly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio Aguero in the 15th minute of play. Angel Xabel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pirmin Jäggi, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. POSSE 1911 FC's Angel Xabel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Téo Rosa in the 18th minute of play. Sérgio Aguero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute, Lukas Lundgren fired away a shot on goal. The supporters of POSSE 1911 FC booed when FC Wil 1900 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Philipp Santagapita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lukas Lundgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lionel Paly having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, POSSE 1911 FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tory Pryor came free, but Angel Xabel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sérgio Aguero stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Emery Heller could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Angel Xabel made a huge save. Sérgio Aguero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lionel Paly having to make a save. The corner ended in Alfredo Di Marco almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly did a great save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Wil 1900 walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
