The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. San Lorenzo's Matias Carlomagno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paris Georgiadis in the 3rd minute of play. A hard shot 8 in the game by Mo Yi Sang from a close distance when the talented Omiros Ntounos managed to make a qualified save. ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's players were relieved. Omiros Ntounos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mo Yi Sang, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. San Lorenzo's Matias Carlomagno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thanasis Vouzakis in the 12th minute of play. Matias Carlomagno came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's Paris Georgiadis. But to his dismay, Paris Georgiadis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With a little luck, ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's Omiros Ntounos got control of the ball when Mo Yi Sang tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Farid Delecroix in the 20th minute of play forced San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Matias Carlomagno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Kara Melo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Omiros Ntounos. The goal made the score 1-1. Matias Carlomagno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Jakobsson in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's goal looked a bit too open when Paris Georgiadis came free, but Matias Carlomagno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mo Yi Sang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omiros Ntounos having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, Thanasis Vouzakis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matias Carlomagno. San Lorenzo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thanasis Vouzakis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After the first half ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mo Yi Sang was the one to do the kick off. Marcus Jakobsson kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In the 53rd minute of the match San Lorenzo got a corner. ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gigi Penaru ran over to the corner to take the kick. 59 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's goal looked a bit too open when Paris Georgiadis came free, but Matias Carlomagno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's Farid Delecroix slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Matias Carlomagno. That made the score 1-3 after 62 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo's Jan Wallman got a free kick in the 65th minute. After 66 played minutes, ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's Dorotheos Frantzeskos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Matias Carlomagno came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ reached it. Mo Yi Sang might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Omiros Ntounos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mo Yi Sang ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's Farid Delecroix slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Matias Carlomagno. That made the score 1-4 after 70 minutes of play. When San Lorenzo's Mo Yi Sang in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's goalie prevented a goal. After 84 minutes ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gigi Penaru who took care of the corner kick. San Lorenzo's Matias Carlomagno proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save San Lorenzo from getting a goal against them. Matias Carlomagno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paris Georgiadis in the 95th minute of play. The ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
