Felix Johans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Józef Mlynarczyk having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josef Masný in the 26th minute of play forced Sentimiento Auriazul's goalkeeper Santiago Cañizares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute Santos Gergori shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Józef Mlynarczyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of KKS Lech Poznań booed when Sentimiento Auriazul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximiliano Bustos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After 55 played minutes KKS Lech Poznań got a freekick which was hit by Fryderyk Hajto. After 57 minutes, Zula Werra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KKS Lech Poznań and the Sentimiento Auriazul players grew even worse after the yellow card. KKS Lech Poznań's supporters crossed their fingers, but Josef Masný was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 77th minute of the match, Ignacy Czekaj tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Santiago Cañizares saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 80th minute, Felix Johans left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sentimiento Auriazul fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 89 minutes into the game, Guillermo Dalmu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Józef Mlynarczyk was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to KKS Lech Poznań getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Eugeniusz Polek hit a great ball. 96 minutes into the match, Sentimiento Auriazul's Eriberto Manni broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.
