Pedro Paulo de Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 胡亦旭, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. The supporters of Coritiba Foot Ball Club booed when São Paulo F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yaya Sow didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st match minute, Coritiba Foot Ball Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wang Chen to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cacá Britovskiy in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Paulo de Azevedo saved São Paulo F.C. from getting behind. A collision led to São Paulo F.C. getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Geovani Coutinho hit a great ball. São Paulo F.C.'s goalkeeper couldn't reach when Rodrigo Garro 58 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. In the 72nd minute Yaya Sow shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Messias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, São Paulo F.C.'s Pedro Paulo de Azevedo got control of the ball when 胡亦旭 tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Cacá Britovskiy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Cacá Britovskiy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The Coritiba Foot Ball Club players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
