Luro's Arsenio George couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 4th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Belgrano. Pascual Feliz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonides Geofredo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juan Quinteros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. In the 11th minute of the match, Saverio Lalla got a very nice opportunity to score, but Mariano Bidun was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Pascual Feliz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Juan Quinteros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 19 played minutes Luro got a freekick which was hit by Filomeno Cuartio. 20 minutes into the game, Arsenio George was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Luro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Belgrano the free kick. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Luro! Pascual Feliz might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juan Quinteros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pascual Feliz ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 36th minute Freddy Refugio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariano Bidun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan Quinteros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonides Geofredo in the 40th minute of play. Pascual Feliz scored 0-2 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Juan Quinteros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Juan Quinteros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pascual Feliz, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After the first half Belgrano were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Freddy Refugio made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Freddy Refugio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Mariano Bidun was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 56 minutes into the match, Leonides Geofredo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Juan Quinteros, 1-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Freddy Refugio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Luro's supporters rose to their feet, but Freddy Refugio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mariano Bidun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Luro getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Paulino Gaufred hit a great ball. Juan Quinteros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonides Geofredo in the 61st minute of the match. Pascual Feliz struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Juan Quinteros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Belgrano. Salvador Enaut hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After 68 played minutes Luro got a freekick which was hit by Arsenio George. The supporters of Belgrano booed when Luro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dionisio Teodor didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Saverio Lalla's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mariano Bidun was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. A collision led to Luro getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Arsenio George hit a great ball. In the 87th match minute, Belgrano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lázaro Rivero to maneuver through the defense. Freddy Refugio might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mariano Bidun. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Freddy Refugio ran back to his position shaking his head. Saverio Lalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Belgrano players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
