Delyan Súrnev started the match with the kick off. Thomas Rix made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Inácio Secco sent off a good shot on target. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Péter Mészáros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delyan Súrnev in the 8th minute of play. Thomas Rix was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but José Bomba showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. In the 12th minute, Inácio Secco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thomas Rix was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. A collision led to F.C. Paços de Ferreira getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Saúl Zambujal hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Bomba in the 20th minute of play forced Laziali's goalkeeper Thomas Rix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thomas Rix made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Bomba in the 22nd minute of play. Péter Mészáros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emiliyan Zakov in the 24th minute of play. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Péter Mészáros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rusi Chaushev in the 26th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Rusi Chaushev put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Péter Mészáros. In the 32nd minute José Bomba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Rix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Veliko Stefchov hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. 37 minutes into the match, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Igor Tudor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thomas Rix narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delyan Súrnev in the 38th minute of play forced F.C. Paços de Ferreira's goalkeeper Péter Mészáros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute José Bomba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Rix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, José Bomba fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Delyan Súrnev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Péter Mészáros having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Bomba to make the kick off. The supporters of Laziali booed when F.C. Paços de Ferreira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emin Sağan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 56 minutes into the game, Inácio Secco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Thomas Rix was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Inácio Secco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Rix having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Laziali's Emiliyan Zakov got a free kick in the 67th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Laziali's zone, José Bomba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomas Rix came out of the goal and José Bomba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 70th minute José Bomba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Rix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When F.C. Paços de Ferreira's José Bomba in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Laziali's goalie prevented a goal. In the 73rd minute, Denis Osokin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 76 minutes into the game, Emin Sağan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Thomas Rix was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Bomba in the 82nd minute of play forced Laziali's goalkeeper Thomas Rix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 84 minutes of play, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's José Bomba made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thomas Rix was left in no man's land by his defense there! F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Paulo Ferreira was substituted for Inácio Secco. Laziali's Thomas Rix played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emin Sağan in the 95th minute of play. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
