Florentin Gougeon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Atletico Benevento booed when Valencia C.F. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryan Plumber didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Ernesto Sciascia hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Valencia C.F. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
